Green Practices
Coastal Byproducts is constantly striving to minimize our impact on the environment in our daily business activities. We are fortunate to be a part of the communities we serve, and we feel an obligation to do what we can to help keep these neighborhoods clean and green. We are partnering with businesses to recycle their used grease and cooking oil, which might otherwise end up going down the drain, contributing to clogged sewer lines, into the trash, adding to our landfills, or being poured into vegetation, compromising the quality of our groundwater. Coastal Byproducts provides an eco-friendly alternative of which businesses can be proud to be a part.
Coastal Byproducts makes a positive difference in other areas of our business. Our delivery and collection vehicles not only run on biodiesel, but also use smaller, more fuel-efficient engines, resulting in less overall fuel consumption and fewer greenhouse gases. Additionally, our waste manifests, business cards and office paperwork are printed on recycled paper whenever possible. Copies of these manifests are also available in electronic formats (via email) to reduce paper usage and keep more trees in our forests.
Speaking of trees, it’s our strong belief that healthy forests are an important part of the overall health of the environment. We have partnered with the National Arbor Day Foundation and have promised to plant a tree in our national forests for every customer that signs up for our service! These trees will replace those lost in forest fires and those killed by disease. Trees not only contribute to the beauty of our surroundings, they also help combat global warming by absorbing carbon dioxide in the air and converting it into oxygen. All of these efforts help make a difference. By partnering with Coastal Byproducts, your business can be part of the solution.
